AND RELEASE.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND DECLARATION/ WAIVER AND RELEASE

 

1.      I acknowledge that participating in off road event can involve risk of serious injury or even death from various causes including overexertion, dehydration, course weather conditions, farm hazards, accidents with other competitors, spectators or road users, and other causes. 

2.      I accept all risks from my participation in this event which could result in permanent injury or loss of life.

 

3.      I agree that, to the extent permissible by law, the Event organizers (including all officials and event volunteers), the sponsors, and other parties associated with the event, have no liability to me whatsoever for any direct and indirect loss (including but not limited to injury or death) sustained by me during or in any way related to my participation in the event.

 

4.      I acknowledge that safety precautions undertaken by the event organizers (such as course supervision and race safety briefings) are a service to me but not a guarantee of safety and event organizers (including officials and volunteers) provide no warranties regarding my wellbeing and safety.

5.      I agree to attend to the compulsory pre-race briefing which will take place at the start/finish line at approximately 7.30 am.

6.      I agree that the minimum age to participate in this event is eight years of age as of the 15th of October 2023 and that any participant between the ages of eight years and fifteen years old as of the 15th of October 2023 must be accompanied by a registered adult.

7.      I understand that I should not compete in this event unless I have trained appropriately and had any health concerns and pre-existing medical conditions checked by a medical practitioner to confirm it is medically safe for me to participate.

8.      I consent to receiving any medical treatment, at my cost (if any), that the event organizers think necessary during or after the event. First aid will be provided on the day.  The medical crew will have the final say over whether a participant is safe to continue and finish the course.  If for any reason you cannot complete the event for medical reasons, please let an official know. 

9.      I agree to read and abide by all the safety information rules, conditions, and race instructions issued/displayed prior to the event.  I further agree to follow all verbal instructions issued by race officials during the event and that I am responsible for any consequences of my failure to observe the rules and instructions.

10.    I hereby agree that this is a drug and alcohol-free event.

11.    I consent that any photographs/videos taken can be used by Running With Paws for legitimate and reasonable promotional purposes.  

12.    I agree that if I have tested positive for Covid 19 or need to be in self-isolation for any reason, I will withdraw my entry and receive a full refund.

13.    I agree to abide by the social distancing requirements as set out by the New Zealand Government at the time.

14.    Identifiable hazards:  There are waterways, creeks an effluent pond.  Electric fencing, cow ruts and rough terrain.  It is therefore essential that you agree to keep within the designated run/walk route at all times.  And abide by all marshals’ instructions.   

15.    My accepted entry into the event will not be transferred to another entrant.

16.    In extreme weather, the event may be cancelled at any time.  In this situation entry fees are non-refundable.

17.    If at the time of the event Covid restrictions are in force to an extent which would mean the event is not viable, the event will be cancelled. This includes regional restrictions. Entrants will have the option of getting a full refund, or transferring to the following year.

18.    Refunds for personal reasons need to be made in writing via email to Running with Paws by the 17th  September 2023.  And will incur a 25% administration fee to cover costs.  No refunds will be made after this date.

19.I agree that if any claim is made against the Event organiser by the owner of the land on which the event is run or by any third party and that claim is made as a result of any action on my part or any failure on my part to adhere to these terms and conditions including the terms and conditions in respect to any dog participating with me, that I will indemnify the Event Organiser against any loss, damage or demand arising in respect of such a claim.

 

 

 

 

 

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND DECLARATION FOR REGISTRANTS WITH DOGS

 

1. To participate dogs must be nine months of age or older as of the 15th of October 2023

 

2. I acknowledge that there is to be only one dog per competitor.  

 

3. I acknowledge that to participate with a Dog in the Running with paws event I must be sixteen years and older as of the 15th of October 2023.  I acknowledge that I am responsible for the Dog at all times including before, during and after the event.

 

4.  I acknowledge that running or walking my dog in the Running with paws event 2023 is a potentially hazardous activity and I do so at my sole risk.  Any cost and expense and any harm that may come to the animal/s shall be my sole responsibility.  Should any injury occur to any person, another animal, or property as a result of the behaviour of my animal(s), whether expected or unexpected, regardless of the stimulus for the behaviour (pets spontaneous conduct, the conduct of another animal, the conduct of any person or thing, or any combination therein) I will be solely liable and held responsible for any injury, or property damage that results from my participation in Running with Paws.

 

 5.  I acknowledge that any dog that participates in the Running with Paws event must be free from any health-related issues which would deem it unsafe for the dog to participate.  I acknowledge that I should consult with my dog’s Veterinarian before the event so that my dog is medically cleared to safely participate in this event.  I acknowledge that allowing my dog to participate in the Running with Paws event could result in stress, strain or potential injury or even death.

 

6.  I acknowledge that my dog must be on a short lead at all times.  No flexi leads - they are a hazard to other people and dogs.

 

7.  I acknowledge that if I wish my dog to participate in this event, my dog will be in the presence of other people, dogs and stimulus which may impact my dogs mental state and behaviour. I represent that I have either talked to their veterinarian or fully apprised the risks myself.

 

8.  I acknowledge that my dog must be up to date with their vaccinations – including Parvo, Lepto and Kennel Cough as of the 15th 0f October 2023.   Evidence of this may be asked for  at time of registration.  

 

9.  I acknowledge that my dog must hold a valid and current registration with their given council.  This may be asked for at time of registration.

 

10.  I acknowledge that my dog must be human and dog friendly.  Any dog showing signs of fear, stress or aggression will be asked to leave.

 

11.  I acknowledge that any dog that has been deemed as dangerous by any council will not be able to enter the event or event grounds.

 

12.   I accept that I will be liable for any medical expenses and damages that result in injuries caused by my dog.  This includes my dog harming other dogs and humans resulting in medical or veterinary bills or damage to property where the event is taking place.  This clause applies even if the medical harm or property damage is caused accidently.

 

13.  I understand that the event organizer - N K S Events Limited cannot be held responsible for the actions of Dogs or any member of the public during this event.
